A great beard doesn’t just happen by accident, it takes the right care, the due dedication, and the right products. Whether you’re growing out your beard for the first time or you’ve been sporting a well-groomed mane for years, following a proper routine will keep your beard looking healthy, soft, and stylish. At Cape Breton Beard Factory, we’ve got everything you need to take your beard game to the next level. Let’s break down the ultimate daily beard care routine using our premium beard shampoo, beard oil, beard balm, mustache wax, and beard brush as follows:

Step 1: Wash Your Beard (Using our Main-à-Dieu Beard Shampoo):

Why? Throughout the day, your beard collects dirt, oil, and sweat. Regular washing prevents itchiness, dryness, and beard dandruff.

How to Use It:
   •    Use Cape Breton Beard Factory Beard Shampoo in the shower or at the sink.
   •    Work a small amount into a rich lather, massaging it deep into your beard and skin.
   •    Rinse thoroughly and pat your beard dry with a towel. Avoid harsh rubbing, which can cause frizz and damage.

Tip: Washing your beard 2–3 times a week is usually enough, but if you work in a dusty environment or sweat a lot, you may need to wash it more often.

Step 2: Hydrate and Nourish the Roots and the Hair (Using any one of our 6 Signature Beard Oils):

Why? Beard oil is essential for softening your beard, reducing itchiness, and keeping your skin healthy.

How to Use It:
   •    While your beard is still slightly damp, apply Cape Breton Beard Factory Beard Oil (choose from scents like Louisbourg Fog, Out on the Mira, Coal Miner, The Highlands, The East Coast or The Skyline (Unscented)).
   •    Put a few drops in your palm, rub your hands together, and massage the oil into your beard and skin.
   •    Use a boar bristle brush to evenly distribute the oil and tame stray hairs.

Tip: If your beard feels dry during the day, a small midday application can help keep it looking fresh.

Step 3: Shape and Style (Using our High Tide Beard Balm):

Why? Our Beard balm provides a decent hold, tames fly-aways, and locks in the moisture. It’s perfect for styling and maintaining a well-groomed look.

How to Use It:

  • Scoop out a small amount of Cape Breton Beard Factory Beard Balm and warm it between your fingers.

  • Work it through your beard, shaping and styling as needed.

  • A more Formal way of applying the Balm would be to  swirl our Boar Hair Beard Brush lightly onto the wax and gently brush it into your beard.

  • Repeat the above step for a couple of times depending on the Thickness of your beard.

  • Make sure you have our sandalwood infused beard comb in your pocket to keep your beard tamed at all times.

Tip: Beard balm is phenomenally great for longer beards that need extra control. If you have a shorter beard, a light application can still help keep it neat and tailored for your fit.

Step 4: Tame the Moustache (Using our Coastline Moustache Wax):

Shaping the moustache alone takes on a whole new level of care and precision because it resembles your manliness and the prominent part of your masculinity. It completes you as a Man and that's why it's the last step your daily routine before you head out to showcase your Cool Swag to the Public. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Warm the Wax:

    • Scrape a small amount of wax using the back of your thumbnail.

    • Rub it between your fingers until it softens. (If the wax is too hard, you can warm it slightly with a hairdryer.)

  2. Apply Evenly:

    • Start from the center of your moustache and work outward.

    • Use your fingers to distribute the wax evenly, making sure it coats all the hairs.

  3. Shape Your Moustache:

    • Use your fingers or a comb to shape your moustache as desired.

    • For a natural look, smooth it down; for a curled style, twist the ends slightly.

  4. Let It Set:

    • Give the wax a few minutes to set.

    • If needed, apply a second light layer for extra hold.

Tips :

  • The fine toothed side of our Sandalwood infused comb helps distribute wax more evenly and aids in precise styling of your moustache.

  • If you don't want to use a Hair dryer, you can rub the hard wax between your fingers a little longer to soften it in order to prevent the clumps.

Want Growth?

5 Ways to Grow Your Best Beard

The question most people ask before they begin growing a beard: How can I grow a beard

faster?

Well, that answer depends on everything from the person to the steps they take during growth.

For us, we’re more concerned about helping you grow your best beard.

Growing your best beard takes patience and care. Absolutely there are steps that can promote

growth, but the most important thing to consider is doing it right.

Here’s how to grow your best beard that would make any man jealous.

Get Regimented

If you’re committed to not only growing a beard, but maintaining a good looking, healthy beard

that feels amazing, you’re going to need to give your face some TLC.

The following tips below are great for promoting growth, keeping the skin hydrated and smooth,

while getting you through the trial and tribulations of achieving Perfect Beard status. But, it’s all

useless if you don’t set a routine for yourself.

Schedule some time morning or night to go through your beard regiment – whether that’s balm,

oil, brush, or talking sweet whispers to your beard. Whatever works.

Stay Committed

Ask anyone with a beard , the first stages of growing are tough. There are some new

sensations going on that you’re not used to. You’ll look different, your face will feel a bit greasier

than usual, and you will most definitely want to shave.

Search for the right products (cleanser, oils, moisturizers) that can help tame the unpleasant

sensations so you can enjoy the pleasant ones. Like how your beard looks better every day.

Clean Up Your Diet

We’re not suggesting a complete overhaul, unless that’s what you’re into. We’re only suggesting

that you understand the science behind the fuel you put in your body, and the effects it has on

your skin and beard.

Consuming whole foods rich in vitamins B5, B12, C and Niacin are going to help promote the

growth of your beard and leave you with healthy skin. Aim for fruits, vegetables, and organic is

your friend.

Additionally, it’s beneficial to understand that consuming high sodium, processed foods can

dehydrate the skin. Your body combats this by creating extra oil. Foods like refined carbs and

sugar, and even too much red meat can cause an increase in inflammation, that also creates skin conditions that aren’t ideal for healthy facial hair growth.

Let it Be

You’ll want to play around with it. You’ll want to shave certain parts. You’ll want to trim it here

or there.

For now, just let it be.

The best thing to do with a new beard is let it grow out. Allow it to get unruly. Let your wild side

loose and get a bit out of hand. You’ll establish a great base and develop the habits you need to

care for it.

Then, find yourself a great barber and let them give you the beard you want that shapes

perfectly to your face. A majestic beard like yours is like a blank canvas for them, and they’ll

know just how to treat you.

Take Care

Finally, through all the growth and itch, through all the patience and dedication, it’s mostly

important to take care of your beard properly.

Try some different products to discover what is best for you, not only in how it cares for your

beard, but how you smell and feel.

Oils and balms keep your face moisturized and beard soft, plus they leave you smelling great.

Brushes and combs help keep things under control, and keep you looking great – an important

step to removing any doubt in your mind that growing your beard is a good idea.

Now enjoy that beautiful beard. You’ve earned it!

4 Elements to Matching Your Beard with Hair Styles

Beard Styles
Our exclusive Ambassador
Our Ambassadors

There are dozens of styles for your beard and even more styles for your hair. So, what hairstyle goes best with your beard?

That’s a loaded question with too much to consider for one single blanket answer. However, we have some things to consider that will help you match your beard and hairstyle.

If you want to have the perfect beard that matches a slick hair-do, consider these four elements and you’ll be on your way to magazine worthy style.

Contrast – Example: Long Beard with High Fade or Undercut

Long hair, long beard, long fingernails, long clothes – where does it end? Eventually it doesn’t look good anymore and begins to scream ‘I stopped caring’.

Contrast is essential for style. From clothes to your beard, contrast draws attention and leaves an impression.

If you’ve worked hard to grow the perfect long beard, you want to look your best and make a statement. We recommend contrasting your long beard with a high fade and comb over pompadour.

Work just as hard growing out your hair? Go for an undercut that keeps your locks long, but still

disconnects your beard from your hair, drawing attention to both.

Balance – Example: Full Beard with Slicked back Hair or Short Curly Hair

The purpose of contrasting different looks is to maintain balance. When styling your beard and hair together, you want to balance out the strengths of both.

A great example is people with big, bushy, full beards. Big full beards paired with big untamed hair might give you that ‘Robin Williams straight out of Jumanji’ look. It’s difficult to pull off. By balancing this with clean cut hair styles, you’re balancing unruly with controlled and it works.

If you have curly hair, cut it short so it balances well with a big beard. Slicked back looks great with a big beard, and so does medium length hair with that intentionally tousled look.

Shape of Face – Example: Short and Medium Beards with Faded Short hair or Straight Long Hair

The shape of your face is important when deciding what you can pull off with your beards and hair styles. Unless you have a chiseled jawline, growing long-straight Fabio-esque hair won’t look right. Growing a short-cropped beard or scruff can make up for what your jawline lacks.

Cheek bones, chin, proportions are all things to consider when growing out hair on your head and face. A well-groomed medium beard and faded short hair can help you lengthen a round face. Or shaping out your beard and cleaning up around your ears can accentuate your cheekbones.

Consider the features and shape of your face and play with styles that compliment them.

Confidence – Example: Moustache or Goatee with Blow Dried Pomp and Medium Fade

Confidence is the secret ingredient to looking good. No one knows how your hair and facial hair grows better than you, so you can take advantage of what works well for you.

If your hair is thinning up top, go for styles that make you feel confident in yourself, not styles that will make you feel disappointed and defeated. Stick with the close-cut hairstyles paired with strong beards.

Same goes if you have a hard time growing a full luscious beard. Stick with what you do well. A full head of hair with meager beard growing ability is the best opportunity to pull off a stylish moustache or goatee with jealousy evoking hair-do’s like blown back pompadours.

The purpose is to do what makes you feel great.
